Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and associated equipment.
- Perform diagnostic assessments and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
- Execute repairs and overhauls of marine engines, pumps, valves, piping, and control systems in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineering teams to plan maintenance schedules and implement system upgrades or modifications.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and classification society requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, spare parts inventory, and equipment performance data.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and crew members as required.
- Participate in sea trials and vessel inspections to evaluate system performance post-maintenance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in ship maintenance, repair, or marine engineering operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and power generation.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical faults.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as marine control systems.
