Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dedicated team in Morningside, Aberdeen. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all plant mechanical equipment.
- Conduct thorough diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Perform hands-on repairs, overhauls, and replacements of pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, piping systems, and other rotating/static machinery.
- Manage and oversee equipment commissioning, decommissioning, and modification projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices during all operations.
- Collaborate with production and operational teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment availability.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment histories, and spare parts inventory.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance technicians and junior engineers.
- Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of plant mechanical systems.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project proposals as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in plant operations, maintenance, and equipment repair within an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of rotating machinery (pumps, compressors, turbines) and static equipment (heat exchangers, vessels).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems and conducting root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety and understanding of health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
- Experience with condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, thermography).
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., API, ASME).
- Experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
- Project management experience in a plant environment.
