Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport patients to and from medical facilities, appointments, and residences.
  • Assist patients with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times, potentially including the use of wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations, including those specific to medical transport.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained vehicle, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, their families, medical staff, and dispatch.
  • Complete and maintain accurate daily logs, trip sheets, and other required documentation.
  • Respond to emergencies or unexpected situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide compassionate and respectful care to all patients, understanding their diverse needs.

Required Skills

  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality
  • Ability to lift and assist patients with mobility issues (up to 50 lbs)
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of local geography and ability to use GPS navigation

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
