Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport patients to and from medical facilities, appointments, and residences.
- Assist patients with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times, potentially including the use of wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations, including those specific to medical transport.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained vehicle, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, their families, medical staff, and dispatch.
- Complete and maintain accurate daily logs, trip sheets, and other required documentation.
- Respond to emergencies or unexpected situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols.
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide compassionate and respectful care to all patients, understanding their diverse needs.
Required Skills
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality
- Ability to lift and assist patients with mobility issues (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of local geography and ability to use GPS navigation
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Previous customer service experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology
