Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women.
- Conduct physical assessments, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Offer education and counseling on pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and women's health topics.
- Attend and manage labor and birth, ensuring safe delivery outcomes.
- Provide immediate care for newborns and postpartum mothers.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings.
Required Skills
- Current Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) certification.
- Active, unrestricted Midwifery license in the state of Maine.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a practicing Midwife.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Midwifery.
- Experience with diverse patient populations and cultural competence.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish or French).
