Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full-Time Mining Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Larne, Belfast. This pivotal role offers an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to the planning, design, and operational optimization of our mining projects. You will be instrumental in developing safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining methods, focusing on both surface and underground operations as required by project scope. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in geological analysis, geotechnical considerations, and economic evaluations to drive project success from conception through to execution and reclamation.
Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, including geologists, metallurgists, and environmental specialists, you will be responsible for creating detailed mine plans, designing ventilation systems, managing dewatering strategies, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize mine plans, schedules, and designs for both surface and underground operations.
- Conduct feasibility studies, economic evaluations, and risk assessments for new and existing projects.
- Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Design and optimize ventilation, dewatering, and ground control systems.
- Monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with geological, metallurgical, and environmental teams to ensure integrated project solutions.
- Manage and interpret geological data, geotechnical reports, and survey information.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and cost estimates for project stakeholders.
- Evaluate and recommend new mining technologies and equipment to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mining operations or mine planning.
- Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac).
- Strong understanding of rock mechanics, geological principles, and mineral processing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to the mining industry.
