Job Description

Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for an exceptional, certified Montessori Teacher to join our dedicated team in Steeles, Toronto. This is a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic classroom, guiding children aged 2.5 to 6 years through their formative developmental stages using the authentic Montessori method. We are seeking an individual who embodies patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of child-led learning. Your role will involve preparing a stimulating environment, observing and guiding children individually, and fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain a prepared Montessori environment that is clean, organized, and conducive to learning.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and individual needs.
  • Deliver engaging and individualized lessons using Montessori materials across various curriculum areas.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents regarding their child's development and classroom activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect, independence, and concentration.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members on curriculum development, school events, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care, adhering to all school policies and provincial regulations.

Required Skills

  • AMI or AMS Montessori Primary (ages 2.5-6) Certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct classroom experience as a lead Montessori Teacher.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Deep understanding and commitment to the Montessori philosophy and its practical application.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in classroom preparation and record-keeping.
  • Ability to foster independence, self-discipline, and a love for learning in young children.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Experience with diverse student populations and multicultural environments.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
