Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial needs analysis for clients to understand their mortgage requirements.
  • Provide expert, impartial advice on a wide range of mortgage products and services.
  • Guide clients through the entire mortgage application process, from initial inquiry to completion.
  • Ensure all advice and transactions comply with FCA regulations and internal policies.
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting client relationships through exceptional service and follow-up.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities and client referrals.
  • Meet and exceed individual sales targets and performance metrics.
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends, product changes, and regulatory updates.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams (e.g., underwriters, solicitors) to ensure smooth client journeys.
  • Prepare and present clear, compliant mortgage proposals and documentation.

Required Skills

  • Full CeMAP qualification (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Mortgage Advisor/Consultant within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent understanding of the UK mortgage market, products, and lending criteria.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, compliance, and anti-money laundering (AML) guidelines.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced financial planning qualifications (e.g., CeRER, DipFA).
  • Experience advising on complex mortgage cases (e.g., self-employed, buy-to-let portfolios).
  • A pre-existing client network or ability to generate leads independently.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus, given London's diverse clientele.
