Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on motorbikes and small engines using diagnostic equipment and manual inspections.
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and complex repairs including engine overhauls, gearbox repairs, and brake system adjustments.
- Inspect, adjust, and replace worn or faulty parts, lubricants, and fluids.
- Utilise a variety of workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic software accurately and safely.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining necessary repairs, providing accurate estimates, and offering expert advice.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure all repairs meet high standards before vehicle handover.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Motorbike Mechanic or Small Engine Repair Technician.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities across various motorbike makes and models.
- Proficiency in both mechanical and basic electrical fault finding and repair.
- Competence in using a wide range of workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
- A valid UK driving license, with a motorcycle endorsement highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Motorcycle specific) or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience with specific diagnostic software platforms (e.g., Texa, Delphi).
- Certification from leading motorcycle manufacturers.
- Advanced fault-finding capabilities in modern fuel injection and engine management systems.
- Previous customer service experience within an automotive or repair setting.
