Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated MRI Technologist for a Per Diem opportunity in the vibrant Rouge area of Toronto. Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Accurately position patients for MRI scans, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced MRI equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and system functionality.
- Administer contrast media intravenously as required, strictly adhering to safety guidelines and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Thoroughly screen patients for contraindications to MRI procedures, including metal implants, pacemakers, and claustrophobia.
- Maintain precise and confidential patient records, including documentation of procedures, patient history, and imaging results.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing reassurance.
- Collaborate seamlessly with radiologists, referring physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Strictly adhere to all departmental policies, safety regulations, and infection control protocols.
- Participate in ongoing quality assurance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the imaging department.
Required Skills
- Graduation from an accredited MRI Technology program.
- Current active registration and good standing with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience as a practicing MRI Technologist.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating various MRI scanner models and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
- In-depth knowledge of MRI physics, cross-sectional anatomy, and advanced imaging protocols.
- Exceptional patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical troubleshooting abilities.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Prior experience with specific MRI vendor equipment (e.g., Siemens, GE Healthcare, Philips).
- Specialized experience in neuro, musculoskeletal, or cardiac MRI imaging.
- Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) for patient scheduling and reporting.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry advancements.
