Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the registration of musical works with PROs (Performing Rights Organizations) like ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, and global societies.
  • Support the processing and tracking of royalty statements, ensuring accurate data entry and reconciliation.
  • Manage and organize publishing contracts, writer agreements, and other legal documents, maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Conduct research on song ownership, copyright status, and licensing opportunities.
  • Coordinate communication between songwriters, artists, licensees, and internal teams.
  • Help prepare licensing agreements and assist in tracking their execution and compliance.
  • Maintain and update the company's internal music catalog database with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Provide administrative support to the publishing team, including scheduling, correspondence, and report generation.
  • Assist with invoicing, payment tracking, and financial record-keeping related to publishing activities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, copyright law updates, and new technologies in music publishing.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or assistant role, preferably within the music industry or intellectual property.
  • Demonstrated understanding of music publishing fundamentals and copyright principles.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
