Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive music curriculum tailored to various age groups and skill levels, aligning with educational standards.
- Plan, prepare, and conduct engaging and interactive music lessons, including instrumental instruction, vocal training, music theory, and history.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
- Organise and direct student musical performances, concerts, and recitals, fostering confidence and stage presence.
- Integrate technology effectively into music education, utilizing digital audio workstations, notation software, and other relevant tools.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to school-wide events.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and participation.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning and creative exploration.
- Stay current with developments in music education, pedagogies, and performance practices through continuous professional development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
- Demonstrable proficiency in teaching at least two musical instruments (e.g., piano, guitar, strings, brass, percussion).
- Strong understanding of music theory, harmony, and composition.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Music Education or a related discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
