Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to patients across various general and surgical wards.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, formulate individualized care plans, and continually evaluate their effectiveness.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, adhering strictly to established protocols and patient safety guidelines.
- Monitor patient vital signs, observe and interpret changes in condition, and report accurately to senior nursing staff and medical professionals.
- Assist with ward rounds, facilitate effective communication with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary team members regarding care plans and progress.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date patient records and documentation in line with clinical governance requirements.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, prescribed treatment plans, and essential self-care techniques for optimal recovery.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for all patients and staff, actively contributing to infection control measures.
- Participate actively in continuous professional development and training initiatives to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all Hiring.zycto policies, procedures, and relevant national healthcare legislation and NMC guidelines.
Required Skills
- Valid NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration.
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute general ward setting.
- Exceptional clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient care skills.
- Proficiency in medication administration, intravenous cannulation, and wound care management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative team-working abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize patient needs, and manage time efficiently in a busy environment.
- Competence in using electronic patient record systems and other healthcare IT applications.
- Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- Advanced life support certification (e.g., ALS, ILS).
- Experience with specialist ward areas such as acute medicine, surgery, or high dependency units.
- Knowledge of local healthcare policies and frameworks within the UK NHS system.
