Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our dedicated General & Ward Service team in Everton, Liverpool. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a dynamic hospital environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality nursing care for patients on general wards.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to prescribed protocols and guidelines.
- Perform various clinical procedures, including wound care, vital sign monitoring, and specimen collection.
- Monitor patients' conditions, interpret findings, and document observations accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, allied health professionals, and other healthcare team members.
- Provide comprehensive patient and family education regarding conditions, treatments, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, providing immediate care and initiating appropriate interventions.
- Adhere strictly to infection control policies, health and safety regulations, and professional nursing standards.
- Participate in ward meetings, handovers, and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring dignity, respect, and choice are maintained throughout their care journey.
Required Skills
- Valid NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration
- Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in a general ward setting
- Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Excellent clinical skills, including venepuncture, cannulation, and ECG interpretation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Sound knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation, policies, and best practices
- Proficiency in administering medications safely
- IT literacy and experience with electronic patient record systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Nursing (BSc or equivalent)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Experience in a specialized ward area (e.g., medical, surgical, elderly care)
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
- Mentorship qualification or experience in supervising junior staff
