Job Description

Hiring.zycto is excited to announce an opportunity for a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Therapy & Assessment team in Kippax, Leeds. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive occupational therapy services, focusing on robust assessment, intervention planning, and therapeutic delivery for individuals across various age groups and clinical needs. Your expertise will guide the development and implementation of personalised intervention plans, incorporating a range of therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment recommendations, and environmental modifications. This role demands a proactive approach to therapy, requiring you to work autonomously while also collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, nurses, and social care professionals. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, including functional, cognitive, and environmental evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualised intervention plans tailored to client needs and goals.
  • Provide a range of therapeutic interventions, including activity analysis, rehabilitation, and compensatory strategies.
  • Recommend and facilitate the provision of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
  • Advise on environmental modifications and adaptations to promote independence and safety.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, families, carers, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit, service evaluation, and research.
  • Contribute to team meetings, case conferences, and professional development sessions.
  • Educate clients and caregivers on self-management techniques and preventative strategies.

Required Skills

  • BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
  • HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council)
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in a relevant clinical setting
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive OT assessments and formulate intervention plans
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills
  • Strong organisational and caseload management abilities
  • Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and communication
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a diverse client group across different specialties (e.g., neurological, orthopaedic, mental health)
  • Post-graduate training or specialisation in a relevant area of occupational therapy
  • Experience in supervising junior staff or students
  • Knowledge of local community resources and services in Leeds
