Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our vibrant team in Vancouver, British Columbia. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, including client interviews, observations, and standardized tests, to identify client strengths and challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized, client-centered treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
- Provide direct therapy services, including functional retraining, adaptive equipment recommendations, environmental modifications, and cognitive rehabilitation.
- Educate clients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic strategies, compensatory techniques, and health promotion principles.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, physiotherapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document client progress, treatment plans, and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuous professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set by the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a practicing Occupational Therapist.
- Demonstrated knowledge of occupational therapy theory, principles, and practice across diverse populations.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and standard office software.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specialized areas such as neurological rehabilitation, mental health, pediatrics, or hand therapy.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to Vancouver's diverse population (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi).
- Previous experience working with international clients or navigating visa processes.
