Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Operations Analyst with a strong background in manufacturing to join our dynamic team in Toronto. This critical role involves diving deep into our production processes, supply chain, and operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. You will be instrumental in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, adept at translating data into clear, concise reports and presentations for various stakeholders, from production floor supervisors to executive management.

As an Operations Analyst, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality assurance, and logistics to understand operational challenges and develop data-backed solutions. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing productivity, reducing costs, improving quality, and ensuring timely delivery of products. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data from various sources (ERP systems, production databases, sensor data) to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement robust data models, dashboards, and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues, proposing data-driven solutions and preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to design, implement, and monitor process improvements, automation initiatives, and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and project updates to management and cross-functional teams through clear and compelling visual aids and narratives.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management strategies.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and other operational technologies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, workshops, and training programs to foster a culture of operational excellence.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in an Operations Analyst or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, including advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros) and SQL.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and operational workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and implement changes effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, Minitab).
  • Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP).
  • Experience in a high-volume, discrete manufacturing environment.
