Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Operations Manager to lead our logistics, workflow optimization, and staff control functions based in Bilston, Birmingham. This pivotal role is perfect for an individual with a proven track record in managing complex operational landscapes, driving efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As our Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our daily operations, directly impacting our service delivery and client satisfaction. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire operational lifecycle, from inbound logistics and inventory management to outbound distribution and returns processing.
Your expertise will be critical in designing, implementing, and refining workflows that maximize productivity and minimize waste. Beyond process, a significant part of this role involves people management. You will lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of operational staff, ensuring they are motivated, well-trained, and equipped to meet performance targets. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage robust logistical strategies to ensure efficient movement of goods and materials.
- Oversee daily operational activities, including inventory management, warehousing, order fulfillment, and distribution.
- Design, analyze, and optimize workflow processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of operational staff, fostering a culture of accountability, development, and high performance.
- Set clear performance targets, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement training programs to upskill the team.
- Monitor key operational KPIs, generate reports, and present data-driven insights to senior leadership.
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within current operations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards.

Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Operations Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain roles.
- Demonstrable experience in workflow optimization and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and other operational software.

- Proven ability to manage budgets and drive cost efficiencies.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to logistics and warehousing.
