Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead our warehouse logistics operations at our Toronto facility, located near the iconic Budweiser Stage. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of warehouse management, from inbound receiving and inventory control to outbound shipping and distribution. As an Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in optimizing our logistical processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within a fast-paced environment.
Your primary objective will be to drive operational excellence, implement best practices, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for managing a dedicated team, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to ensure departmental goals are met and exceeded. This position requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of analyzing data to identify bottlenecks, implementing innovative solutions, and leveraging technology to streamline operations. You will collaborate closely with various internal departments, including procurement, sales, and transportation, to ensure seamless integration and consistent service delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with safety standards.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate warehouse staff, fostering a high-performance and safety-conscious team culture.
- Optimize inventory management processes, conduct regular audits, and minimize discrepancies to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Analyze operational data, identify areas for improvement, and implement lean methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimal utilization of warehouse equipment and facilities.
- Collaborate with supply chain partners and internal stakeholders to resolve logistics challenges and improve overall service.
- Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance metrics, including throughput, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Manage the warehouse budget, control expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations management or a similar logistics role.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
