Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance management.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate records.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflow processes to maximize efficiency and space utilization.
- Oversee the receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Train and mentor new and existing warehouse personnel on operational procedures, equipment usage, and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on warehouse performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
- Operate and oversee the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership and team management abilities with at least 4 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and developing a team.
- Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations, including WHMIS and OHSA.
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) and possess valid certification.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in various warehouse conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (Diploma or Degree) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with specific WMS platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or HighJump.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
