This is an unparalleled opportunity for a Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to provide advanced surgical care to a diverse and appreciative patient population within a state-of-the-art facility. You will be instrumental in diagnosing and treating a wide range of complex conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, face, and associated structures, including intricate wisdom teeth extractions, sophisticated dental implant placement and bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), treatment of facial trauma, and management of oral pathology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including extractions, dental implant placement, bone grafting, orthognathic surgery, and facial trauma repair.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, evaluations, and diagnostic imaging interpretation.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with referring dentists and specialists.
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care, ensuring optimal recovery and outcomes.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records in compliance with all regulatory standards and privacy laws.
  • Ensure strict adherence to sterilization protocols and infection control guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay abreast of surgical advancements.
  • Provide clear and compassionate patient education regarding procedures, risks, and post-operative instructions.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical support staff within the surgical setting.

Required Skills

  • DDS/DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program.
  • Board Certification or eligibility for Board Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice dentistry and oral surgery in Ontario.
  • Valid CPR and ACLS certifications.
  • Proven proficiency in a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgical techniques.
  • Exceptional diagnostic and treatment planning abilities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship training in a specialized area of oral and maxillofacial surgery (e.g., craniofacial surgery, head and neck oncology).
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced digital dentistry and surgical planning software.
  • Record of participation in research or academic contributions in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
  • Prior experience working in a multi-specialty dental or medical group practice.
