Key Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor CCTV screens across multiple sites for suspicious activities, security breaches, or potential threats.
- Operate and manage sophisticated CCTV software and equipment, including PTZ cameras and recording systems.
- Accurately log all incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with company protocols.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to relevant personnel (e.g., security teams, emergency services) regarding detected incidents.
- Respond effectively to alarms and alerts, following established escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular equipment checks and report any malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and privacy policies.
- Assist in the compilation of evidential footage for investigations when required.
- Maintain a detailed and comprehensive shift log, documenting all significant events and handovers.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a CCTV monitoring or security control room environment (1 year minimum).
- Excellent observational skills and an acute eye for detail.
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods and monitor multiple screens effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for overnight shifts.
- Valid SIA Licence (CCTV Public Space Surveillance preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience with specific security software platforms (e.g., Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon).
