Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and process incoming parcels and packages from delivery vehicles efficiently.
- Accurately scan items using handheld devices to track their movement and maintain inventory accountability.
- Categorise and place parcels into correct outbound cages, bags, or designated loading areas based on specific destination routes.
- Safely handle various sizes and weights of packages, adhering strictly to manual handling guidelines and health and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area throughout the shift to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily sorting targets and deadlines consistently.
- Promptly identify and report any damaged, misplaced, or irregular items to supervisors for immediate resolution.
Required Skills
- Ability to commit to and consistently work overnight shifts.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all tasks.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move parcels weighing up to 20kg regularly.
- Highly reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong, proactive work ethic.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to understand instructions and perform simple counts.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a fast-paced team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, parcel sorting, or similar fast-paced operational environment.
- Familiarity with scanning equipment or automated parcel sorting systems.
