Job Description

Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a dedicated and vigilant Overnight Hotel Receptionist to join our team in Sheffield. The overnight shift is unique, offering a blend of quiet autonomy and critical operational duties. You’ll handle guest inquiries, manage reservations, perform essential night audit procedures, and ensure the overall safety and security of the premises. We’re seeking someone who embraces the rhythm of the night, is proactive in anticipating guest needs, and can respond effectively to any situation that may arise. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute efficient guest check-ins and check-outs, particularly for late arrivals and early departures.
  • Manage all incoming calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Accurately process reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the Property Management System (PMS).
  • Perform comprehensive night audit procedures, including balancing accounts and preparing daily reports.
  • Monitor hotel security systems, conduct regular patrols, and respond to any alarms or disturbances.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns, requests, and emergencies promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure the lobby and reception areas are tidy and presentable throughout the shift.
  • Undertake light administrative tasks such as preparing wake-up calls and compiling guest information.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Property Management Systems (PMS) and standard office software.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm approach under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during quiet periods.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for delivering outstanding guest service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Night Hotel Receptionist or in a night audit role.
  • Certification in First Aid or basic security training.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and amenities in Sheffield.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
