Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal specializing in Court Preparation & Research to join our distinguished legal team in Belfast. This pivotal role requires an individual with a robust understanding of legal procedures, an unwavering commitment to accuracy, and exceptional organizational skills. You will be instrumental in supporting our solicitors and barristers by conducting comprehensive legal research, preparing vital court documents, and managing case files from inception through to trial. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research using various databases and resources to support case strategies and arguments.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, subpoenas, and discovery requests.
- Assist in the preparation for court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, ensuring all necessary documentation and evidence are in order.
- Organize and maintain complex case files, exhibits, and evidence, both physical and electronic, ensuring easy accessibility.
- Liaise with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel, maintaining professional and effective communication.
- Summarize deposition transcripts, interrogatories, and other legal documents to aid in case analysis.
- Manage discovery processes, including document production and responses to requests for information.
- Assist in the compilation of witness lists, exhibit lists, and trial binders.
- Ensure compliance with all court rules, filing deadlines, and procedural requirements.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal, with a focus on litigation or court preparation.
- Proven experience with extensive legal research using platforms like Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of legal terminology.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in document management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or a related field, or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Experience in specific practice areas such as commercial litigation, personal injury, or family law.
- Familiarity with Northern Ireland court procedures and legal system.
