Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming parcels and packages from vehicles in a timely manner.
- Accurately scan, sort, and distribute parcels based on destination, size, and weight using automated systems or manual processes.
- Load sorted parcels onto outgoing vehicles or conveyors according to established routes and schedules, ensuring efficient space utilization.
- Inspect parcels for any damage or irregularities and report findings to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, strictly adhering to all company safety guidelines and procedures.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks safely and efficiently, if required and trained.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet daily sorting targets.
- Adhere to strict timelines and deadlines to ensure timely dispatch of all parcels and packages.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in sorting.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods during a night shift.
- Exceptional reliability and punctuality, crucial for night shift operations.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and a willingness to strictly follow all workplace safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume, team-oriented environment.
- Basic literacy skills (ability to read labels, instructions, and follow directions).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, logistics, parcel sorting, or similar physical labor environment.
- Experience with scanning equipment and automated sorting systems.
- Familiarity with various types of packaging and shipping labels.
- High School Diploma or equivalent educational background.
