Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol assigned streets and municipal parking lots within the Trefann Court area to ensure compliance with parking regulations.
  • Identify and issue parking infraction notices (tickets) for violations such as expired meters, prohibited parking, and safety infractions.
  • Educate the public on parking bylaws and provide accurate information regarding parking rules and regulations.
  • Respond professionally to public inquiries and complaints related to parking, offering assistance and resolving issues with tact and diplomacy.
  • Operate and maintain handheld enforcement devices and other equipment accurately for data collection and ticket issuance.
  • Maintain clear and concise records of daily activities, interactions, and enforcement actions.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and departmental procedures while on duty.
  • Potentially appear in court as a witness to provide testimony regarding parking infractions, if required.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating regularly with supervisors and colleagues.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Exceptional observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in various situations.
  • Physical capability to walk and stand for extended periods in diverse weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to de-escalate potential conflicts and maintain professionalism.
  • Basic computer literacy for using handheld devices and record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or public-facing role.
  • Knowledge of Toronto's municipal parking bylaws and regulations.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
