Key Responsibilities

  • Direct vehicles to appropriate parking spaces efficiently and safely.
  • Assist visitors with general inquiries, providing information about the park and surrounding areas.
  • Process parking fees accurately using designated payment systems (cash, card, mobile apps).
  • Monitor the parking lot regularly for unauthorized vehicles, safety hazards, and general cleanliness.
  • Provide clear and courteous instructions to drivers and pedestrians.
  • Perform light maintenance duties such as litter removal and ensuring signage is visible.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or suspicious activities to appropriate personnel immediately.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times, representing the park positively.
  • Manage parking availability and occupancy, especially during peak hours or special events.
  • Ensure all parking equipment is functioning correctly and report malfunctions promptly.

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and operate basic payment systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service, hospitality, or parking attendant role.
  • Knowledge of George Wainborn Park and the surrounding Vancouver area.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
  • First Aid and/or CPR certification.
