Key Responsibilities

  • Assist service users with all aspects of personal care, including washing, dressing, mobility, and toileting, maintaining their dignity and privacy at all times.
  • Provide support with medication administration in accordance with care plans and company policies, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Help with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Provide companionship and engage service users in stimulating activities, hobbies, and social interactions.
  • Assist with light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Monitor and report any changes in a service user's health, well-being, or circumstances to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records and daily logs.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of service users by adhering to health and safety guidelines and risk assessments.
  • Liaise effectively with family members, healthcare professionals, and other team members to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  • Promote independence and choice, empowering service users to make their own decisions where possible.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to care for others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety principles.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Full clean UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred, but not essential for all roles).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care setting (e.g., as a Personal Care Assistant, Carer, or Support Worker).
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
