Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Provide medication reminders and assist with mobility and transfers.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and grocery shopping as needed.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and respectful environment.
  • Observe and accurately report any changes in the client's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy living environment for clients.
  • Adhere strictly to individualized care plans, established policies, and procedures.
  • Document client care activities accurately and completely in accordance with organizational standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuinely compassionate nature.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and commitment to client schedules.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking.
  • Basic understanding of hygiene, infection control, and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Previous volunteer or personal care experience with family or friends.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is considered a significant asset in Montreal.
