Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments, including health screenings and goal setting discussions.
  • Design and implement individualized exercise programs tailored to clients' specific needs, goals, and fitness levels.
  • Provide clear, safe, and effective instruction on exercise techniques and proper use of equipment.
  • Monitor client progress, modify programs as necessary, and offer ongoing motivation and support.
  • Educate clients on principles of exercise, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Maintain accurate and organized client records and session schedules.
  • Ensure a safe and clean training environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
  • Stay current with industry trends, research, and best practices in fitness and wellness.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Potentially lead small group training sessions or workshops as needed.

Required Skills

  • Nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification (e.g., ACE, NASM, CanFitPro, CSCS, NSCA).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a Personal Trainer.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective fitness programs for diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and exercise science.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Proficiency in both English and French (bilingualism highly preferred in Montreal).
  • Client-focused with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or a related field.
  • Specialized certifications (e.g., Kettlebell, TRX, Corrective Exercise, Pre/Postnatal, Nutrition Coaching).
  • Experience with outdoor training and functional fitness methodologies.
  • Familiarity with various fitness tracking technologies and apps.
  • A track record of client retention and success stories.
