Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for pets, including feeding, fresh water, and administering medication as required.
- Engage pets in appropriate exercise and playtime, such as walks for dogs or interactive play for cats and other animals.
- Clean pet areas, including litter boxes, cages, and food/water bowls, maintaining a hygienic environment.
- Communicate regularly with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's well-being and any notable observations.
- Ensure the safety and security of pets at all times, following established protocols and owner instructions.
- Monitor pet health and behavior, promptly reporting any concerns or emergencies to pet owners and management.
- Maintain a detailed log of services performed and pet-specific information.
- Adhere to all company policies and client-specific instructions for pet care and home security.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with animal handling and care (dogs, cats, potentially others).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Genuine love and compassion for animals.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected situations calmly.
- Comfortable with various pet temperaments and breeds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in pet first aid and/or CPR.
- Previous professional pet sitting or kennel experience.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and common health issues.
- Access to reliable transportation (personal vehicle or public transit).
- References from previous pet care roles.
