Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medicines accurately and efficiently, ensuring patient safety and adherence to legal requirements.
- Provide expert advice to patients on the safe and effective use of their medications, including dosage, side effects, and storage.
- Conduct comprehensive medication reviews (MURS/NMS) and provide personalized clinical consultations to optimize patient outcomes.
- Manage pharmacy stock levels, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and ordering of pharmaceutical products.
- Offer advice on over-the-counter medicines and provide recommendations for minor ailments and health concerns.
- Collaborate with general practitioners, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Participate in health promotion campaigns and public health initiatives within the local community.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Stay updated with the latest pharmaceutical developments, clinical guidelines, and changes in legislation.
Required Skills
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical conditions, and clinical guidelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing systems and general IT applications
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective medication counselling
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Preferred Qualifications
- Independent Prescriber qualification
- Experience with advanced pharmacy services (e.g., travel clinics, minor ailment schemes)
- Management or supervisory experience within a pharmacy setting
