Key Responsibilities
- Safely and skillfully perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients of all ages, adhering strictly to established protocols and infection control procedures.
- Accurately identify patients and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring proper sample collection and integrity.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing, including centrifugation and distribution to appropriate departments.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and professional communication with patients to explain procedures, alleviate anxiety, and ensure a comfortable experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation, regularly monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and provincial guidelines for phlebotomy services.
- Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately in electronic and physical records.
- Participate actively in ongoing training sessions and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist with general administrative duties as required to support the smooth operation of the clinic.
