Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of musculoskeletal injuries, focusing on sports-related conditions and biomechanical analysis.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing a range of evidence-based techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, modalities, and taping.
- Provide expert guidance on injury prevention strategies, strength and conditioning, and return-to-sport protocols.
- Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment progression, and self-management techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, coaches, trainers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely patient records in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Actively participate in continuous professional development and contribute to clinic-wide learning initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior physiotherapists or students as required, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
Required Skills
- Valid registration and good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with a strong focus on sports physiotherapy or orthopaedics.
- Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, and biomechanical assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse patients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in complex injury management.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate certification or advanced training in Sports Physiotherapy (e.g., Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy, CSCS).
- Experience with various athletic populations (e.g., youth, amateur, professional, specific sports).
- Familiarity with advanced rehabilitation equipment and technology.
- Fluency in additional languages is an asset.
