Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plastic injection molding machines according to production schedules and specifications.
- Perform routine machine setup, including mold changes, material loading, and parameter adjustments.
- Conduct quality checks on molded parts using calipers, gauges, and visual inspection to ensure adherence to standards.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, diagnose production issues, and perform basic maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records, including daily output, scrap rates, and machine performance data.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies, ensuring a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Report any equipment issues, quality deviations, or safety concerns promptly to management.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating plastic injection molding machines.
- Proven ability to set up and adjust machine parameters.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or trade certification in plastics technology, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience with various types of plastic resins and their processing characteristics.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Previous experience with robotic or automated molding systems.
- First Aid and Forklift operator certification.
