Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumber specialising in both repairs and installations to join our thriving team in Broomhill, Sheffield. As our Plumber, you will be the face of Hiring.zycto, entrusted with diagnosing plumbing issues, providing effective and lasting repair solutions, and expertly installing new plumbing systems and fixtures. You will manage your daily tasks efficiently, communicate clearly with clients about the work required and completed, and ensure all projects adhere to safety regulations and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues in residential and commercial properties, providing accurate assessments and effective solutions.
- Perform a wide range of plumbing repairs, including leak detection, pipe repair/replacement, drain unblocking, and fixture repairs (taps, toilets, showers).
- Install new plumbing systems, fixtures, appliances (e.g., water heaters, dishwashers), and pipework according to specifications and local codes.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on plumbing systems to prevent future issues and ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, explaining technical issues and proposed solutions in an understandable manner.
- Estimate job costs and material requirements accurately, providing quotes to clients as needed.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Manage and maintain company-issued tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including job reports, invoices, and material requisitions, accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency plumbing situations, as required.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in plumbing repairs and installations.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in various plumbing techniques, including soldering, pipe fitting, and drain clearing.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid UK driving license with a clean record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Gas Safe registration (if applicable to previous roles/desired work)
- Experience with commercial plumbing systems.
- Relevant certifications for specific plumbing technologies (e.g., unvented hot water systems).
- Familiarity with smart home plumbing systems.
