Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial, residential, and industrial structures.
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify and prevent potential problems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex plumbing issues, utilizing a variety of diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Interpret blueprints and building specifications to determine layouts for plumbing systems.
- Cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes using various tools and techniques.
- Ensure all work adheres strictly to local plumbing codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, explaining issues and proposed solutions clearly and professionally.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
- Provide emergency plumbing services as required, demonstrating adaptability and responsiveness.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Plumber (minimum 3 years).
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and waste disposal.
- Familiarity with plumbing codes and regulations (e.g., IPC, UPC, local Chicago codes).
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Plumber license in Illinois or ability to obtain one.
- Experience with advanced plumbing technologies (e.g., trenchless repair, green plumbing).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish a plus).
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
