Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings.
- Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layouts for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials.
- Inspect plumbing systems for leaks and other problems, diagnosing issues and determining the most effective solutions.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes to specifications, using hand and power tools.
- Repair or replace broken or leaking pipes, faucets, and fixtures, ensuring proper functionality.
- Adhere strictly to all safety codes, building codes, and plumbing regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain repairs, provide estimates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours spent on each job.
Required Skills
- Red Seal Journeyman Plumber certification in British Columbia.
- Minimum 4 years of proven plumbing experience in residential and commercial settings.
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with various plumbing tools and equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialized plumbing systems (e.g., radiant heating, backflow prevention).
- Certification in gas fitting (Class B or A).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
