Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the loading and unloading of vessels, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational schedules.
- Manage the efficient movement and storage of goods within the port warehouse facilities, optimizing space and accessibility.
- Operate various port equipment and machinery safely and proficiently, including forklifts, cranes (where certified), and other cargo handling gear.
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming and outgoing cargo, documenting any damages or discrepancies accurately.
- Collaborate with stevedores, customs agents, and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant cargo processing.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain precise records of all goods handled, utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations across all dock and warehouse operations.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions to minimize delays and enhance efficiency.
- Prepare daily operational reports and communicate status updates to management and relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in port operations, logistics, or warehouse management.
- Proven ability to operate heavy machinery and cargo handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, reach stackers).
- Strong understanding of port safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively within a diverse team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
