Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dock and warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching goods.
- Operate various material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock rotation and record-keeping using WMS.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality, quantity, and compliance with documentation.
- Prepare all necessary shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading and packing lists.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., transport, customer service) to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or operational issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Assist in training new team members on operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in dock operations, warehouse management, or a similar logistics role.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and basic computer applications.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a logistics environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- A formal qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
