Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, meats, and seafood according to recipes and chef instructions.
- Perform basic cooking tasks like peeling, chopping, slicing, dicing, mincing, and washing ingredients.
- Assist with mise en place for all kitchen stations, ensuring all necessary components are ready before service.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring adherence to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Receive and properly store deliveries, rotating stock to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Support line cooks and chefs during service, assisting with plating and finishing as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely dish preparation.
- Wash dishes, sanitize equipment, and assist with general kitchen cleanup at the end of shifts.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
