Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and documentation efforts for complex, high-value projects, ensuring innovative and functional solutions.
- Serve as the primary client contact, fostering strong relationships and translating client visions into actionable project plans.
- Oversee project teams, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure design quality and project efficiency.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local building codes, zoning bylaws, accessibility standards, and relevant industry regulations, including the Ontario Building Code.
- Conduct comprehensive project reviews, including constructability, quality assurance, and risk management assessments.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Prepare and present design concepts, proposals, and project updates to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Drive business development initiatives, contributing to proposals and presentations to secure new projects and expand our client base.
- Champion sustainable design practices and integrate innovative technologies and materials into project specifications.
- Act as a signatory architect for project submissions, assuming professional responsibility for design integrity and public safety.
Required Skills
- Active Architectural License in Ontario (OAA).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in architectural design and project management.
- Demonstrated portfolio of successful, complex architectural projects.
- Expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and 3D modeling tools (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino).
- Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code, zoning bylaws, and relevant industry standards.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
- Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Proficiency in project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Architecture.
- LEED AP accreditation or other sustainable design certifications.
- Experience with BIM implementation and advanced parametric design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Experience in business development and client acquisition.
- Familiarity with contract administration and construction phase services.
