Key Responsibilities
- Conduct discreet and ethical surveillance operations, utilizing appropriate techniques and technologies.
- Perform comprehensive background checks and open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering.
- Interview witnesses, subjects, and relevant parties to gather pertinent information.
- Collect, document, and preserve evidence in accordance with legal standards and chain of custody protocols.
- Prepare detailed, objective, and legally sound investigative reports for clients.
- Utilize advanced investigative tools and software for data analysis and case management.
- Ensure strict adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing private investigations in Ontario.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Testify in court or legal proceedings as an expert witness when required.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times regarding all case information and client identities.
Required Skills
- Valid Private Investigator License in Ontario.
- Proven experience in conducting various types of investigations (e.g., corporate, fraud, surveillance).
- Exceptional observation and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using investigative tools, software, and surveillance equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant Canadian and Ontario privacy laws (e.g., PIPEDA, FIPPA).
- High level of integrity, discretion, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in dynamic environments.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Criminology, Law, Police Foundations, or a related field.
