Are you a highly analytical and detail-oriented Process Chemist with a passion for optimizing chemical manufacturing operations? Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our dynamic team in Pointe-Claire, Montreal. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize existing chemical manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis for process deviations, product non-conformances, and equipment failures.
  • Develop, validate, and implement new or modified process parameters and operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with R&D to scale up new products from pilot to full commercial production.
  • Design and execute experiments (DOE) to investigate process variables and develop robust solutions.
  • Analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and final products using various analytical techniques (e.g., GC, HPLC, Titration, Spectroscopy).
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and process documentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, GMP).
  • Provide technical support and training to production operators and other staff.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Process Chemist in a manufacturing environment (e.g., chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage).
  • Strong understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry principles.
  • Proficiency in various analytical techniques and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex chemical processes.
  • Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) software.
  • Knowledge of polymer chemistry or specialized fine chemicals manufacturing.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).
