Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to order placement and delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery capabilities.
  • Negotiate favourable terms, conditions, and prices with suppliers to achieve cost savings and secure advantageous contracts.
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, products, and industry trends.
  • Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs, addressing any issues and driving continuous improvement.
  • Prepare, review, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and operational factors.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives to enhance efficiency and value.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments to forecast needs and align procurement activities with business objectives.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar supply chain role.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of contract law and purchasing regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or working towards it.
  • Experience in the manufacturing or logistics sector.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and ethical procurement practices.
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
