Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team in Stapleford Hill, Nottingham. This pivotal role is central to optimizing our supply chain operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery across all our procurement activities. As a Procurement Officer, you will be instrumental in developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives, fostering strong vendor relationships, and implementing best practices in supply chain management.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process, from identifying supplier needs and conducting market research to negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance. A deep understanding of procurement principles, excellent negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, including vendor selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance monitoring.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess capabilities, and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, finance, legal) to understand their needs and ensure procurement aligns with business objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, developing contingency plans where necessary.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports, including spend analysis, savings achieved, and supplier performance metrics.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle, Coupa).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with international procurement regulations and logistics.
