Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Engineer to join our dynamic team in Ballymena, Belfast. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and monitor manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flow diagrams.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to facilitate the smooth transition of new products from design to full-scale production.
- Optimise equipment utilisation and layout to maximise production capacity and workflow.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and company standards.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field)
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Production Engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Competence in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing simulation tools
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or MBA
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience with automation and robotics in a production setting
- Knowledge of industry-specific machinery and materials relevant to our sector.
