Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks for common areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, amenity spaces, and restrooms.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of exterior grounds, including litter removal, sweeping pathways, and basic seasonal landscaping tasks like raking leaves.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs, tightening loose fixtures, unclogging minor drains, and proactively identifying and reporting larger repair needs to senior maintenance staff.
- Inspect properties regularly for any signs of damage, wear and tear, or potential safety hazards, accurately documenting findings and reporting them promptly.
- Respond courteously and efficiently to resident requests and concerns regarding property condition, escalating issues as necessary.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling, maintaining tidy and organized waste collection areas according to municipal guidelines.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as preparing outdoor spaces for different weather conditions, including basic snow removal or garden bed preparations.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring tools are kept in good working order and notifying management when reordering is necessary.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, company policies, and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate effectively with property management, other team members, and external contractors to ensure seamless property operations and a positive community atmosphere.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques, supplies, and general property upkeep principles.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, observant approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with residents and team members.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning, maintenance, hospitality, or customer service role (volunteer or paid experience will be considered).
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and general property safety protocols.
- Basic handyperson skills for minor repairs and a willingness to learn new maintenance tasks.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
