Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level QA Tester. This is a foundational role where you will play a crucial part in ensuring the reliability, functionality, and overall quality of our software applications, particularly those developed for our esteemed client, St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. As a QA Tester, you’ll work closely with development teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of excellence.

Your day-to-day will involve hands-on testing, meticulously following test plans, and providing clear, concise feedback. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test cases and test scripts according to established testing plans and procedures.
  • Identify, document, and report software defects, errors, and inconsistencies using designated bug tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand software functionality and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure that defects have been resolved and no new issues have been introduced.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test plans and test cases.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding product quality and improvement.
  • Learn and apply new testing methodologies, tools, and best practices as guided by senior team members.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) concepts.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • Basic knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
