Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Control Helper to join our construction team in Koreatown, Toronto. This vital role supports our Quality Control Inspectors in ensuring that all construction activities adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and project specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Quality Control Inspectors with on-site inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction processes.
- Accurately document observations, findings, measurements, and non-conformances using specified forms and digital tools.
- Collect and organize samples of construction materials for testing and ensure proper labeling and chain of custody.
- Monitor ongoing construction activities to ensure adherence to blueprints, specifications, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, calibration, and organization of inspection tools and equipment.
- Promptly report any deviations from quality standards, project specifications, or safety protocols to the Quality Control Inspector.
- Support the implementation of quality assurance programs and procedures on site.
- Actively participate in site safety briefings and strictly adhere to all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures.
- Perform basic administrative tasks related to quality control documentation, filing, and record-keeping.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of construction practices and terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional observation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and construction specifications.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and collaboration.
- Proficiency with basic measurement tools (e.g., tape measure, levels).
- Physical stamina and ability to perform duties in various weather conditions and construction environments.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (e.g., 6-12 months) in a construction helper, labourer, or similar site support role.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to the construction industry (e.g., OHSA).
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Completion of a post-secondary program in construction management, civil engineering technology, or a related field.
